Digital media gives car buyers more satisfaction, J.D. Power study shows

It’s no secret that the internet and digital media are becoming a huge part of our lies. Everything nowadays is becoming connected via the web and we can’t seem to do anything without our gadgets or some form of electronic device to make our lives “easier”.

This digital lifestyle is what seems to be giving buyers more satisfaction when purchasing a new vehicle, says J.D. Power in its J.D. Power 2018 Philippines Sales Satisfaction Index study which was released recently. The study shows that more buyers aged 29 years or younger used the internet (60%) used the power of digital media and the internet versus 38% of buyers aged 30 years or more.

These very same tools allowed 80% of younger buyers to do stuff such as compare vehicls and their prices while only 68% of older buyers used these electronic tools to do the same. When it was time to check out the actual vehicle, 63% of younger folks contacted  the dealer directly using the electronic apps while only 54% took advantage of these tools.

The all-important test drive, which allows buyers to get a feel for the vehicle and see if it is for them, was done by 81% of youngsters while the older set did the same, though only 80% of them. And 28% of younger buyers will seek the professional advice of sales staff to ask questions about their chosen vehicle, while only 20% of their older counterparts do so.

The J.D. Power Sales Satisfaction Index study also reveals that Kia is the top brand when it comes to satisfying customers in these respects. The Korean carmaker came away with 842 points, followed by Suzuki with 831 points and Toyota coming in third with 826 points.
