It’s the most wonderful time of the year, they say. Well, it seems that whoever uttered this line wasn’t stuck in Metro Manila traffic for hours on end. But seriously, there’s hope for all the gridlock happening—at least according to Waze.
Yes, the mobile platform that has been bringing communities together on the road puts forth traffic adata aimed at helping motorists and commuters cope with the stresses of holiday carmageddon. Using traffic data from last Christmas, Waze will try and predict when are the best and worst times to travel.
According the info gathered by Waze, there was a 10 percent increase in the number of travellers during the holiday season. This was complemented (or worsened, if you will) by roughly 12 percent more vehicular volume during the same period. Ergo, traffic was definitely worse and could be the same this year.
Fortunately, motorists and commuters can plan their trips easier by letting Waze’s Planned Drives feature know what date and time they intend to arrive. Waze will then give them the best time to leave, allowing them to stay on the road less and be with their loved ones more this Christmas and New Year
Traffic need not dampen your holiday cheer. Simply download Waze today and plan those holiday travels.
