After receiving their certifications from the Department of Transportation, Hyundai Asia Resources Inc’s Class 1 and 2 Modern Public Utility Vehicles are finally off and running.
This was the message conveyed by the recent turnover of 5 units of the HD505 Class 2 Modern PUV to HARI from assembly partner Del Monte Motor Works Inc.
An assembler of bodies for trucks and buses since 1950, DMMWI will build Hyundai’s entry into the government’s PUV Modernization Program.
Built on the Hyundai HD505 chassis, the new King of the Road can accommodate 22 seated passengers, a driver, and 8-10 standing occupants. It also boasts modern convenience and safety features such as air conditioning, Automated Fare Collection System, Wi-Fi, GPS tracking, CCTV cameras, 7-inch monitor, and speed limiter.
Powered by a 2.9-liter CRDI motor, it is Euro-4 compliant and tuned for better efficiency.
During the official turnover ceremony, HARI and DMMWI top brass sprayed the ceremonial champagne and put the new units through their paces. All this to symbolize that their pride and joy is finally ready for Philippine roads to serve the riding public.
With this, expect to see the Hyundai Class 2 Modern PUV ply our roads in the coming months.
