Scripture teaches us that we exist from conception until death, from death until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the General Resurrection from the dead, and then, the New Heavens and the New Earth. “We are safe in Christ’s presence when we die, and we will be supremely happy in his presence in a new body in the new heavens and the new earth.” “What happens to us in the first minute after we die? You exist in this present state. The Apostle Paul wrote that those of us who are Christians “would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8). The devil does NOT want you to grasp this wonderful truth. People who have never attained their souls, have only a Reshimo (from the Hebrew word, “Roshem” [record]), which is a certain code similar to DNA including all attributes a person had ever consisted of.. Many Christians think of the soul as an immortal entity within us that goes on living after death. There is life in torment or in bliss. My own study of the Bible has convinced me that our souls or spirits go immediately into the presence of God when we die. People who can perceive their soul live in it because of its disconnection with the body’s death. Paul is simply praying for your entire life (spirit + body = soul) to be preserved blameless unto the day of the coming of the Lord Jesus.

The present state is where you are now.

I've always had lots of questions about heaven.” ... Death is a reality—but so is God’s offer of salvation in Christ. What Happens to the Soul After Death? From the moment of conception, you became a human being, that is, a “soul.” Your soul is eternal. What does the Bible say?

I personally hope and pray that this truth about the spirit, soul, and body has blessed you immensely.

And if it did happen or if it is a parable, it seems to be making the point that after death there is not oblivion or sleep, unconsciousness. Do we enter heaven immediately, or do our souls go into some kind of a sleep until the end of time, when our souls and our bodies will be reunited?
