Since 1985, when the VW Club of the Philippines was founded, it hosts a car show every December. The main menu  of which was to showcase Volkswagen air-cooled units that have been restored to or preserved in its original factory specifications. The early years of the car show made use of an open pick-up truck as its stage and a parking lot as the main venue of the car competition.

This has evolved over the years to an anticipated major classic car event,  where various classic VW owners converge and compete for automotive excellence, both in function and looks. Criteria for judging is broken down into 70% function and 30% looks.

A best of show award historically averaged between 92 and 95 pts scored for the competition.

Participants vie for the classic VWCP BEST OF SHOW trophy as the top plum, and the VWCP Best in Class trophies. No cash prizes were ever awarded, just bragging rights.

This year's VW SHOW aims to be the biggest to date, with a display of the new VW Generation Beetle recently introduced to the Philippine market by the Ayala owned Automobile Central Enterprise (ACE). It will be held at the Grand Parade Grounds of Camp Aguinaldo on December 7, 2014, Sunday, from 8am to 6pm.

Side events include parts swap meet, novelty items sale, die-cast cars display, music, food, raffle and give away prizes and many more.

The show opens at 7am, to all interested car owners and lovers from all sectors and all brands. Come one, come all.
