It’s no secret that the Ford EcoSport is one Ford Group Philippines’ best-selling vehicles. In fact, you don’t need figures to know this; simply look around and you’ll see an EcoSport almost everywhere. But this December, the little city-slicker took time out from its schedule ferrying small families and urbanites to their destination and played the role of Santa’s sleigh.
Last December 14, 2016, a fleet of brightly-decorated Ford EcoSport units carried Ford Group Philippines volunteers and members of the media to the GK Jose Rizal Village in Majada, Calamba, Laguna where they spent time with a group of children and played Santa to the youngsters.
The event was part of the Blue Oval-badged carmaker’s Corporate Social Responsibility campaign, this time aiming to bring some cheer to 200 children this holiday season. After a briefing and breakfast, the EcoSport convoy proceeded to the GK Village, where the volunteers joined the kids in activities like storytelling, art workshops, outdoor games, and the like. Plus, there were snacks to perk up everyone’s energy levels. And Christmas wouldn’t be complete without the special appearance of Jollibee mascots and Santa Claus himself.
After the fun-filled activity, the group headed to Nuvali to unwind and have a late lunch. All told, it was a day of fun, games, and laughter. And we’re not just talking about the children. Because as the participants learned, there’s just something about giving that makes even the giver happy. And that, in a nutshell, is the true spirit of Christmas.
