The Chevrolet Trax Gets a Refresh

If you were at the recently concluded Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2017 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, you’d know that Chevrolet unveiled quite a number of vehicles during the four-day event. One of these was the refreshed Chevrolet Trax.

The subcompact crossover from the Bowtie brand now gets a new front fascia, complete with slimmer headlights, a thinner grille, and a hexagonal air intake underneath. The headlight and grille design is particularly interesting as it now looks like one cohesive unit. The rear likewise gets a nip and tuck, thanks to new tail lights and a revised bumper. The look is capped off by split-type five- alloy rims.

While the interior remains largely unchanged, what’s new is the availability of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These allow for easy phone pairing and mirroring, making it safer to use your mobile device while driving. Speaking of safety, standard kit includes a slew of airbags, and stability and traction control, just to name a few.

The Chevrolet Trax is still powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged Ecotec four-cylinder mill that puts out 140hp and 200Nm of torque. The motor is mated to a 6-speed autobox, driving the front wheels.

As we write this, some of our colleagues from the motoring media will have just finished a Ride and Drive event to try out the refreshed Trax in Bali, Indonesia. The updated Chevrolet Trax will be sold in two variants: the Chevrolet Trax LS that retails for P1,123,888 and the top-spec Chevrolet Trax LT at P1,358,888.
