When the current generation Toyota Corolla Altis entered the scene in 2013, everyone was wowed by its bolder, more youthful styling. From an admittedly staid and conservative economy car, the Corolla finally evolved into a more sporty number.
As it celebrates its 50th anniversary this 2016, Toyota Motor Philippines marks the occasion with a refreshed Corolla Altis that was introduced today at the annual Toyota Media Christmas Party at Wolfgang Steakhouse in Resorts World, Manila. The car, which retains the overall flanks of the present model, now gets a restyled front end with new headlamps with daytime running lights, a revised bumper, and a more aggressive mug.
Complementing the front fascia refresh are the new wheel design, along with the updated rear. And yes, even the interior gets a new Flaxen shade for a more premium vibe.
Speaking of upscale, the new 2017 Corolla Altis receives more safety gear in the form of seven airbags (driver and front passenger, side impact, and curtain airbags), and Vehicle Stability Control, just to name a few.
The Altis, as it is fondly called by many, is still powered by the same 1.6- and 2.0-liter Dual VVTI motors, each developing 122hp/154Nm and 145hp/187Nm, respectively. It will be available in five (5) variants with the following prices:
- Toyota Colrolla Altis 1.6 E MT: P894,000
- Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6 G MT: P934,000
- Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6 G AT: P990,000
- Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6 V AT: P1,074,000
- Toyota Corolla Altis 2.0 V AT: P1,318,000
Buyers can choose from seven (7) cool colors, including a new Phantom Brown Metallic hue, and a Pearl White option going for an extra P15,000. The 2017 Toyota Corolla Altis will be available at all Toyota dealerships beginning on December 14, 2016.
