Electric vehicles are growing in number, even in our country. We recently reported that the City of Muntinlupa is fast becoming the E-Jeepney Capital of the Philippines. Then there are e-trikes and even e-buses that are starting to ply out roads.
As we type this, a new player is set to establish its foothold in the scene. Le Guider International boasts of not just one but several electric vehicles in its arsenal. At the helm is entrepreneur Mariano “Jun” Nocom, a 71-year old who doesn’t let his age get in the way of his dream of providing a green motoring environment for the country.
The Septuagenarian says that his age has even made him wiser and serves as a motivation to work harder. Mr. Nocom is joined by EV expert Engr. Youseff Z. Ahmad. Together, they lead Le Guider to provide environment-friendly solutions for the Filipino motoring public.
Among their products are cars converted to EVs, an electric jeepney, and electric tricycles. They will also be fielding an electric bus, which Engr. Ahmad first made in China. These types of vehicles, both gentlemen note, are easier on the pocket, as they have less moving parts and thus, require less maintenance. Moreover, you don’t need to use a special charger to top up the battery. A regular 220-volt wall outlet will suffice.
And Le Guider’s efforts aren’t left unrecognized. Rommel Juan, Electric Vehicle of the Philippines (EVAP) president says that they value Le Guider’s contribution to the country’s transport system. With this endeavor, we sure hope to see even more clean energy vehicles roaming our roads. Yes, you don’t need a Tesla or Nissan Note to go electric.
