Last December, Toyota Motor Corporation teased the world with news and photos of an all-new Crown Concept. Now, the Japanese auto giant rolls out the 15th-generation model and it is as sleek as they predicted.

Retaining the svelte shape of the concept car, it combines dynamism, athleticism, and sophistication. Apart from the more youthful flanks, the Crown boasts of new cutting-edge tech that makes it a first-generation Connected Car.

Toyota has thrown in tech goodies such as DCM 24/7 that keeps the owner connected with the car and the community. Toyota, for instance, will alert you if your Crown needs regular maintenance. Morover, the driver is alerted on possible traffic bottlenecks, road hazards, and other data that all aim to make the drive as stress-free as possible.

Apart from the wide range of Toyota connectivity services like T-Connect and the like, the Crown likewise boasts of a host of potent yet efficient powerplants. One can choose between a 2.5-liter Dynamic Force Hybrid engine with 184hp and 221Nm of torque, a 3.5-liter Multi-Stage hybrid with 299hp and 356Nm, or a 2.0-liter Direct Injection turbo mill with 245hp and 350Nm.

Either way, the Crown will be underpinned by the Toyota New Global Architecture platform that promises dynamic handling and a truly supple ride. Toyota has even taken pains to make this all possible by putting the car thru its paces at the famed Nurburgring. This means it should perform exceptionally well under all driving conditions.

And of course, safety is a top priority with equally tech-savvy systems such as Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Adaptive driving assistance tech, pre-collision warning, adaptive high beams, and road sign and pedestrian detection.

The new Toyota Crown is now available in Japan.
