The 2019 BMW Z4 enters the scene in style

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the BMW Z4. No, it hasn’t disappeared from the scene but has been dutifully doing its part to offer open-top motoring to those discerning BMW clients who pine for such. And now, the German luxury carmaker revels the latest iteration—a stylish take on the erstwhile roadster at no less than the posh Pebble Beach in California.

Yes, let’s not forget that the Z4 is done in the classic long hood, short deck style that these open-top two-seaters are best known for. This one features a sporty and stylish front end with lots of mesh grilles, intakes, and a pair of smoked headlamps for the First Edition variant. The side gets the now familiair air vents right behind  the front wheels. The look is finished off by a short rear with a ducktail spoiler and trapezoidal exhausts.

Stepping inside, one is greeted by a host of touchscreens, monitors, buttons and rotary knobs. A head-up display keeps drivers informed of vital vehicle info while allowing them to focus on the road ahead. Buttons on the center console control the gearshift and drive modes. And the usual rotary knob manipulates the infotainment system. Of course, sport seats keep occupants in place during those sporty or leisurely drives.

Those jaunts are taken care of by a 3.0-liter turborcharged inline-6 that produces 335hp. This allows the Z4 to hit 100kph from rest in just 4.4 seconds. What’s even cooler is tht the First Edition gets goodies like adaptive dampers, an electric rear differential, and M Sport brakes, among others.

At lpresent BMW has not spilled all the beans on its new roadster. It did say that  the Z4 30i will hit deaerships in the second quarter of 2019 tol be followed (oddly enough) by the M40i First Edition.
