Around 30 years ago, BMW gave car enthusiasts the chance to experience its M performance models with a bit of open-air fun. Thus was born the BMW M3 Convertible that gave the same M driving excitement but in a package that allowed one to soak up the scenery and the open air.
BMW celebrates this with a special, limited edition BMW M4 Convertible Edition 30 Jahre model. From its rather “humble” roots that began with just 195hp, the new M4 Convertible now puts out 450 horses that allows one to have fun both on road and track.
To tell the Edition 30 Jahre apart from its standard siblings, this one gets goodies like BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line accents on the kidney grille and the side vents. The car also gets forged M alloy rims that come in 20-inch Orbit Grey design.
The cabin is donned in Marino leather that comes in the same color scheme as the exterior. Apart from this, the lettering 30 Jahre Edition can be found on the door slills and passenger’s side of the dashboard.
Being an M model means that BMW and M GmbH fitted this special model with driving tech that bring out the best n the car. You get M Sport exhaust, adaptive M sport suspension with specially-tuned Sport mode, and specific tweaks to the stability control, active M differential, and DSC.
Limited to just 300 examples, buyers of the BMW M4 Convertible Edition 30 Jahre can choose between two special colors—both of which are steeped in tradition. There is Macao Blue that was the debut color back in the day, and Mandarin II Uni, which pays homage to Dakar Yellow that was available for the M3 Convertible’s second iteration.
