Centro Manufacturing Corporation, a prominent truck body maker, has expressed its intent to support the entry of Euro 4-compliant commercial vehicles in the country. This came in the form of 2 models it featured during Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation’s (MMPC) FUSO Canter Euro 4 light duty trucks line up launch.

As seen in the launch, MMPC showcased 3 FUSO Canter variants. These are the aluminium cargo van, the passenger van, and the drop-side truck, with the latter 2 being custom-made by Centro. In doing so, Centro was able to bring out the versatility and practicality of the FUSO Canter for a wide variety of use.

“We are very happy and excited about the Fuso Euro 4 launch because we know that the Philippines will need these new environmentally-friendly trucks to help in the government’s Build, Build, Build programs and in the fast-growing logistics sector as well,” says Centro Sales Manager Vic Belisario.

Centro is especially highlighting the passenger van as it is the company’s way of helping the government’s PUV Modernization Program move forward.

As per the Department of Transportation’s statement, a modern PUV must have either an electric motor or a Euro 4-compliant diesel engine as its engine. It also has to be safer and more people friendly (especially for senior citizens, pregnant women, and persons with disabilities).
