DJI, the leader in creative camera tech, has unveiled the Osmo Mobile 2. It’s an evolution of the brand’s Osmo Mobile smart phone camera stabilizer that it pegs to be more lightweight, simpler, and more powerful than the predecessor.
The Osmo Mobile 2 boasts DJI’s latest innovations that help videographers and photographers (hobbyists or professionals alike) take smoother, more stunning shots. One of these is the brand’s class-leading 3-axis gimbal technology that cancels out movement to ensure steadier shots. This is complimented by DJI’s SmoothTrack technology that helps its user achieve fluidic, cinematic shots every time.
According to DJI, the Osmo Mobile 2 is made of high-strength modified nylon and features a folding design that makes it more light weight and easier to use. With its 2-way clamp, taking shots in portrait or landscape orientation has become easier as well. Finally, the placement of the control buttons has been improved to allow users quick access to settings such as ISO, shutter speed, and more.
Within the device is a more powerful built-in battery that DJI claims would provide users 15 hours worth of filming, around 3 times longer than the first generation model. Aside from this, the Osmo Mobile 2 also comes with a USB port, essentially turning it into a powerbank for on-the-go charging of other devices.
Finally, users can maximize their DJI Osmo Mobile 2 experience y downloading the DJI GO mobile app. Available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, the app can support IOS and Android devices, respectively. It’s loaded with tons of features designed to help users take photos and videos more professionally. Some of these include ActiveTrack for motion-tracking and Panomama for scenic photographs.
