August was another stellar month for Ford Philippines, as it posted a record number in terms of sales in the country, vis-à-vis the same period last year. The Blue Oval brand saw a 12 percent rise in sales compared to the same period in 2016.
Driven by its three best-selling models—the Ranger, Everest, and EcoSport--, Ford sold a total of 3,166 vehicles for the month of August 2017. The Ranger, for instance, had a 65 percent jump in sales to 1,038 units. Thanks to the Ranger’s 15 variants, total year-to-date sales are up by 24 percent to 6,550 vehicles
The Everest, meanwhile, continues to be another favorite, with August year-on-year sales up by 18 percent to 1,027 units rolling out of dealerships. This pegs total yearly sales at 7,797 Everests.
Rounding out the top three is the subcompact EcoSport. The little urban warrior saw 921 units leave Ford dealerships in August, bringing total yearly sales to up 15 percent to 7,013 units.
Not to be left out were Ford’s North American-built models like the Explorer and Mustang. The former sold 88 units—up by 16 percent in August. This brings total yearly figures to 724 units for a 4 percent rise in sales.
As for the Mustang pony car, 34 units were sold in August alone. This brings total yearly sales up 24 percent to 256 vehicles.
With such a performance, it looks like Ford may be headed for yet another record year come the end of 2017.
