With sales remaining at a steady pace over the past few months, Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. looks like it’s back on track as sales grew by 2 percent during the first 7 months of 2019.

From 19,478 units during the January-July 2018 period, HARI sold 19,790 vehicles during the same time this year.

This can be attributed to huge gains in the Light Commercial Vehicle and Commercial Vehicle segments. The erstwhile Passenger Car segment likewise contributed to the cause.

With a total of 8,645 Ligtht Commercial Vehicles sold during this time, the segment posted a 28 percent growth. This can be attributed to the strong showing of the Kona, which is now one of the most sellable SUVs in the market today. The Kona alone retunted a whopping 474 percent growth with 2,455 units.

Then there is the versatile H-100, which can be either a cargo van, dropside truck, modern jeepney, or the like, also posted strong sales of 3,860 units, or a 64 percent rise this year.

Meanwhile, the Passenger Car class turned in 10,565 cars for a 15.4 percent rise in sales. This is due to the best-selling Accent and the Reina, which are the main drivers of Hyundai’s car offensive in the country.

And of course, the Commercial Vehicle segment sold 580 units this year, with a 140 percent growth. This is Hyundai’s take on the truck and bus category that caters to the ever-growing business sector in the country.

With all these, it seems that HARI will once again post a record year in terms of sales for 2019.
