Hyundai Asia Resources Inc’s (HARI’s) sales continue to grow as we go past the halfway point of 2017. The Korean carmaker’s Philippine distributor posted a robust 21% sales growth for the month of July, vis-à-vis the same period last year.
The highest sales volume ever achieved saw HARI sell 3,594 units for July alone. This led to a total year-to-date figure of 20,960 vehicles sold—an 8% jump over last year’s 19,336 Hyundai's coming out of showrooms during the first seven months of 2016.
The strong showing was attributed mainly to the Hyundai Accent, which accounted for roughly 45% of total HARI sales. The subcompact sold 1,608 units, which is a large chunk of the 2,564 Passenger Cars sold in the first seven months of this year. This segment alone grew by 12% from last year.
Meanwhile, the Hyundai H-100 closed the month of July with 287 units. This led to the Light Commercial Vehicle segment turning over 1,030 units to customers.
If everything remains constant, HARI could see another banner year, with the brand solidifying its third spot in terms of best overall sales for the industry.
