In June of this year, Jaguar Land Rvoer wowed us car nuts with the unveiling of the XE SV Project 8. This car, if you will recall, transforms an executive class XE into a supercar by utilizing carbon fiber components for lighter weight, and a truly potent 5.0-liter supercharged V8.
Putting out 600hp, the car is able to blast from rest to the century mark in 3.3 seconds, before hitting an eye-watering velocity of 322kph. Now, JLR puts its money where its mouth is and lets the four-door sedan loose on the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
The result?
The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 has just set a new course record, going around the Ring in 7 minutes, 21.23 seconds. This makes the XE SV Project 8 the fastest four-door production sedan in the world. That’s some 11 ticks quicker than the previous four-door sedan that used to hold the record.
Driven by race car driver Vincent Radermecker, the quickest and most powerful Jag has even bested some two-door and mid-engined sports cars. Set to go on sale in early 2018, only 300 copies will be hand built by JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO).
