Jeep Thrills: Testing Out The New Grand Cherokee

So I was invited to a wedding out of town in Tagaytay, and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try out the freshly-launched, super luxurious Jeep Grand Cherokee.

And just as well I did. Because as we got closer to Tagaytay, the fog started to roll in thick and heavy, making it almost impossible to see. It was like driving through a milkshake, except not as tasty.

But thankfully, the Grand Cherokee isn’t one of those overly woke, lactose intolerant type of soft-roaders playing dress up, and comes equipped with fog lights front and rear, as well as their patented Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System. And let me tell you, this thing actually came in handy. It had been raining all day and some of those backroads and driveways were super slippery, and ironically, despite the fact that we’re experiencing record heat now in the Philippines, it was the Snow setting that gave maximum traction and stability on the tricky bits.

Despite the challenging road conditions, we arrived at the wedding on time and feeling like true adventurers. And throughout the entire drive, we were constantly impressed with the Grand Cherokee's power, stability, and comfort. I particularly enjoyed the Adaptive Cruise Control that manages the distance to the car in front, allowing for fatigue-free driving on the highway, but it was also the little things that really impressed me, like the Automatic High Beam that allows maximum illumination until it detects oncoming traffic, and then switches between the two accordingly

Then there’s the Heads-Up Display that allows you to see your speed and other important information in your direct line of sight, without having to take your eyes off the road. And speaking of seeing things, the Electronic Rear View Mirror is a game-changer. It's much brighter than a traditional mirror, and it gives you a much better angle of view. You can see everything that's behind you, even if you've got a car full of people or a bunch of luggage in the back.

But that's not all. The Grand Cherokee also comes equipped with cameras to check on every row inside and outside the car, wireless charging for your smartphone and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto that seamlessly integrates your phone with the multimedia display, allowing you to access your favorite apps and music with just a few taps. It’s like having a Swiss Army Smart knife on wheels.

Overall, I'd have to say that the new Jeep Grand Cherokee is a great choice for those who like the power, performance and ruggedness of an SUV, but don’t want to give up on the comfort and prestige of a luxury sedan. It's got everything you need to handle any road conditions, from its advanced traction management system to its powerful engine, plus it looks like something that didn’t skip leg day.

So if you want to roll up to your next event like a true boss, I'd definitely recommend giving the Grand Cherokee a try. Just make sure to bring some extra windshield wiper fluid, because you never know when you'll be driving through a milkshake again.
