Kia, through its official Philippine distributor Columbian Autocar Corporation (CAC), has released its updated price list for all its models this year. The adjustment was made in accordance to the RA 10963 or the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law, which recently took effect.

As a result, prices of the brand’s current models have gone up by about 10% to 20% vs. the 2017 price points. For example, the entry-level Kia Picanto 1.0 SL MT subcompact hatchback had a suggested retail price of P625,000 in 2017. This year, it now has a sticker price of P635,000, that’s a P10,000 increase.

Another example is the range-topping Kia Rio 1.4 GL AT subcompact hatchback. Last year, one can drive it home for P955,000. Now, expect to shell out P975,000 to experience what this sporty small car has in store.

While this news comes rather unappealing, there is still some sweet info worth noting. The highlight of which is the pricing for the 2018 Kia Sorento 2.2 4x2 DX AT. According to CAC, the diesel-fed SUV will be locally available come February. The good news is that its previously announced price of P1,895,000 will remain as is.
