For some people, the next adventure road trip is just around the corner, especially this holiday season. With that being said, Kia Philippines, the Korean carmaker which locally distributes the Sportage crossover, is delighted to share its ideas for a spirited drive to places within or near Metro Manila.

Lake Caliraya in Laguna

The Lake Caliraya is the go-to place for most Southerners who’re keen on experiencing a day’s worth of water adventure. In addition, visitors can also enjoy its scenic landscapes that are perfect for camping or just spending the entire day enjoying nature at its best.

Located in Laguna, this man-made lake is surrounded by such municipalities as Lumban, Cavinti, and Kalayaan. Best part is that it only takes around 3 hours to get here from Metro Manila.

As a destination that boasts fun water-related activities, bring along a set of swimming gears is a must! Thankfully, the Kia Sportage can accommodate ample amounts of cargo space for not just swimming gears, but also camping essentials like beverage cooler chests and huge food baskets for the whole family to enjoy. That’s because its rear seats can be folded 60:40 style, making room for around 1,500 liters of carrying space.

Masungi Georeserve in Rizal

The highlight of this destination is its wonderful limestone formations that have been meticulously carved by Mother Nature for hundreds of years. It also has plenty of recreational sites for those who want to soak in the freshness of the air, thanks to an abundant number of trees and other vegetation.

However for some people, the drive going here is where all the fun is. That’s because the usual route going here consists of an uphill road with twists and turns, allowing for some great views, selfie opportunities, and pleasant drives.

Thankfully, the Kia Sportage is more than capable of tackling these mighty roads with its potent 2.0L diesel engine that delivers 185 hp and 402 Nm of torque. The driver can also enjoy a spirited drive while sifting through its 6-speed automatic transmission with Sport mode via paddle shifters.

La Mesa Watershed in Quezon City

To those who prefer spending a whole day of vacation within the metro, the La Mesa Watershed in Quezon City is the perfect place. It’s well equipped with bike trails and off road tracks for cycling enthusiasts, an archery range for unleashing that inner Robin Hood or reliving those Hunger Games moments, ziplines, and of course; picnic areas for the whole family and barkada.

It’s a given fact that getting here is rather challenging due to the metro’s traffic situation. Good thing the Kia Sportage comes with amenities to make the stop-and-go drive a bit more entertaining.

On its center dash sits an AM/FM infotainment system with iPod and USB support to playback those relaxing tunes. In addition, the Sportage also offers generous head and leg rooms so people can stretch once in a while to ease the burden of sitting for long periods of time.

These are some of the most easily-accessible recreational places on Kia’s list, and these are merely to start the adventure mood. There’s a whole lot more out there. Give these places a call and check out their accommodation packages that may suit your preferences.
