To those who’ve been following Suzuki Philippines, Inc. (SPH) recently, it can be recalled that the Japanese carmaker made headlines last year with its reveal of the 2019 Jinmy. And now, the wait is finally over as it recently held an event to mark the all-new Jimny’s availability in the local market. Ladies and gents, the all-new 2019 Suzuki Jimny All-Grip Pro has arrived!

First of all, the Jimny nameplate has been around for over 40 years now, and has since then become one of the most popular off-road mean machines in the world, most especially in the Philippines. You may check out its brief history and a a few blitzes on the new model’s look and feel right here.

Highlighting the Jimny All-Grip Pro is its off-road capability that is well-suited for the Philippine landscape. Its ladder frame foundation is mounted high in order to give the driver the confidence to tackle a wide variety of terrain, may it be the winding roads up in Baguio, the lahar fields in Pampanga, or even the treacherous pothole-laden streets of the metro.

For maximum traction at all times, Suzuki bolted on a set of front and rear long stroke 3-link underpinnings connected to full wheel axles that have been beefed up with more rigidity. These ensure not only traction, but also stability and control, no matter the road surface.

Also bolted on the chassis up front is a 1.5L inline 4-cylinder motor that churns 101 hp and 130 Nm of torque. It comes with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed auto that moves the small SUV’s part-time 4-wheel-drive system. This system is activated via long-range transfer gear.

All these technical features are wrapped in brawny exterior that evokes strength and power. Do note that this model is bigger than its predecessor in terms of length, width, and height, although the wheelbase was kept unchanged. Inside is a well-appointed cabin with added room for movement due to the SUV’s bigger dimensions. Also, most of what’s inside was retained, including the 9-inch touch screen head unit with multimedia features and connectivity.

So, how much is the all-new 2019 Suzuki Jimy All-Grip Pro? Well before anything else, it comes in four kinds; the GL Manual, GL Automatic, GLX Automatic Monotone, and the GLX Automatic Two-Tone. Check out its price list below.

  • GL MT – P975,000
  • GL AT – P1,035,000
  • GLX AT Monotone – P1,085,000
  • GLX AT Two-Tone – P1,095,000
