Lexus Philippines recently unleashed its new and updated RC F. Slated for the 2020 model year, this luxury sports coupe flaunts a more aggressive-looking exterior with a considerable amount of performance upgrades to match.

At a glance, the 2020 Lexus RC F may look just like its predecessor. But looking closer, one would notice a pair of sharper-looking headlights with redesigned integrated running lights. Also, the brand’s trademark “spindle grille” has been retouched to give the RC F’s fascia a meaner appearance.

From the side, the RC F sports bigger front and rear fenders that make for a sexier look that complement its new set of rollers, that being them redesigned alloy rims. The back end, meanwhile, presents a cleaner, sleeker redesign of the previous styling, complete with new tail lights to give it an edgy touch.

Inside the 2020 RC F is a familiar world as almost all aspects and components of the previous model had been carried over. This includes the steering wheel and all is assortment of buttons, the infotainment system with its head unit, selector dial and track pad, among others.

But the most important changes the 2020 RC F has in store can be found further within. Firstly, it tips the scale a lot lighter. This is largely due to new lightweight materials used to make its underbody and suspension system without sacrificing quality and driving dynamics. In addition, Lexux engineers also redesigned the intake manifold, gave the car new hallow half shafts at the rear end, and made the air conditioning compressor a bit smaller.

With all these weight saving effirts in mind, Lexus went the extra mile by upping the ante of the RC F’s engine. Case in point, the 5.0L V8 now pushes out 471 hp and 530 Nm of toque that’s governed by an 8-speed automatic gearbox and a launch control that comes as standard. Transitioning all that power to the ground is a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Working in unison, all these performance upgrades make the 2020 Lexus RC F sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 sec, a mad dash that would ultimately reach a max speed of 200 km/h.

Lexus Philippines stickers the now-available 2020 RC F at P5,928,000. Drop by Lexus Manila at 34th Street, Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig for more details.
