The long wait is over. Well, at least when it comes to renewing your driver's license or vehicle registration, that is. This is because of the newly-implemented program of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) that will allow online booking for the said transactions.
Thanks to a tie-up with its IT partner, the government agency is now able to accept online bookings for those who wish to renew their driver's license or vehicle registration. What used to take an eternity will now only take as little as 45 minutes, says the LTO.
The new program is similar to that of the DFA, where those renewing their passports simply book online for their appearance. By logging on to www.lto.giov.ph, one can easily book their available time and district office. They will then receive a confiration slip which they will present to the LTO upon renewal.
With this new system, it is hoped that the usual complaints of long lines and even longer release of documents will soon be a thing of the past. For now, though, the service is only available at the Central Office in Quezon City, Pasig, Novaliches, Muntinlupa, and Marikina. It will, however, be rolled out in all district offices natiownide by the end of the year.
