When it comes to midsize sedans, the Mazda6 is admittedly one of, if not the sportiest of the lot. Now, Bermaz Auto Philippines, official distributor of Mazda vehicles in the country, gives us the refreshed Mazda6, along with a few goodies under the skin.
More than just a cosmetic upgrade that sees stuff like a revised grille and bolder lines, the new Mazda6 Sedan Turbo (as the name suggests) gets a new heart. This comes in the form of the SkyActiv-G with Dynamic Pressure Turbocharging that delivers 231hp and 420Nm of torque. Combined with SkyActiv Drive automatic with Sport Mode and G-Vectoring Plus, these goodies make for one quick and agile handling sedan, says Mazda.
Besides the Mazda6 Sedan Turbo, the Mazda6 Sports Wagon also gets an update. It receives the same exterior treatment as its four-door sibling, giving the 5-door wagon a bolder and more premium look. While it doesn’t get a turbo heart, it still has a potent 190-horse and 252Nm 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G gasoline mill mated to a 6-speed SkyActiv AT with Sport Mode. This makes for one sporty drive for the family man who can’t get enough of his performance rides yet needs the space for his brood.
Both the Sedan Turbo and Sports Wagon, along with their Diesel brother, get goodies like Nappa leather seats, Sen Wood accents, electric parking brake, improved NVH insulation, an 11-speaker Bose sound system (Trubo), Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability along with Mazda Connect interface, Push Start system, and much more. Safety comes in the form of Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, 360-degree camaras, and the like.
Both the Mazda6 Sedan Turbo and Diesel are priced at P2,250,000 while the Sports Wagon goes for P1,995,000.
