Mr Satoru Suzuki bids farewell to Toyota Motor Philippines

It’s hard to believe that current Toyota Motor Philippines President Satoru Suzuki has been in office for four years.

He has accomplished quite a lot during his term, most notably the resurgence of local parts production, grassroots motorsports, environmental projects, and the introduction of various global models.

Yet like anything in life, his term must come to a close.

This announcement was made recently to members of the media, along with key government and TMP officials.

Mr. Suzuki noted with fondness the highlights during his time at the helm of the Japanese auto giant’s local arm.

These include the launch of such key offerings as the HiAce Grandia, which had its World Premiere right here in our shores, the local reveal of the GR Supra, and the latest-generation Corolla Altis, which now has a Hybrid Electric Vehicle variant.

Then there were the Vios Cup Races, which took local motorsports back to the grassroots level.

And of course, who can forget TMP’s participation in the Philippine government’s CARS program.

And of course, the all-new fourth-generation Vios was also launched during this term.

Yet even has he bids farewell, he will leave a few projects that will bear fruit a little after he steps down. These include the PHP 4.5-billion Luzon Hub, which will revolutionize Toyota’s logistic perations; the Toyota Mobile App to better connect customers with dealers; and expansion to a new business model to explore long-term leasing of vehicles.

As for his successor, TMP will announce who it will be in January of next year.

To Satoru-san, we bid you Sayonara and the best of luck on your future endeavors!
