It’s hard to believe but the Nissan GT-R has been around for half a century now. Italdesign, on the other hand, is likewise marking its 50th birthday this year. And with both nameplates being icons in the automotive industry, it is but natural that they team up some time soon.

Well, that tie-up has finally happened. And the result is the stunning Nissan GT-R50.

Taking cues from the 2018 Nissan GT-R R35 and the 2020 Nissan Gran Turismo Concept, the GT-R50 features a predominantly gray exterior with gold accents surrounding the grille, wheel arches, and other elements. The hood now has a a more pronounced power dome while the roof is now lower by 54m. The look is finished off by an adjustable rear wing and 21-inch alloy wheels.

More Italdesign touches can be seen inside via the two types of carbon fiber that line the dash, as well as the Black Italian leather and Alcantara finish. Gold accents break up the otherwise dark interior while digital gauges replace the standard instrument cluster.

One of the bigger changes, however, can be found under the hood. Thanks to GT3-spec turbochargers and other tweaks, the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 now delivers 710hp and 780Nm of torque. This promises even better off-the-line acceleration and driving performance.

Expect to see the Nissan GT-R50 hit the road next month.
