It was a toast to everything Swedish as Volvo Philippines recently celebrated Sweden’s National Day at the posh Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt in Manila. The event was attended by dignitaries and guests who got to experience the sights, sounds, smells, and flavors of Sweden.
Swedishness, as the event was aptly dubbed, played host to various Swedish inventions such as Patterns of the Biosphere and Feminist Foreign Policy. Apart from this, Swedish cuisine was likewise served to tickle the palette. And of course, one of the most well-known Swedish brands was on hand to grace the affair—Volvo Cars.
As many may know, Volvo has always been a symbol of safety in the automotive industry. This is no surprise as the marque has always been driven by its founders’ philosophy that its offerings should be centered around people. This means giving them cars that aren’t just comfortable but will allow them to get around with total peace of mind, knowing that they will be safe under any circumstance.
These traits can be seen in the different innovations that Volvo has come up with over the years like the three-point seatbelt, SIPS Bags, and the City Safe emergency braking system, just to name a few. All these are meant to keep people out of harm’s way. And as Volvo moves further into the 21st century, it will strive to make its offerings even safer, all wrapped in simple yet sophisticated designs that are truly Swedish.
