It was another stellar month for Ford Philippines as the American carmaker reported rising sales for the ninth month of 2017, compared to the same period last year. The charge was led by the EcoSport, Everest, and Rranger triumvirate—which has been accounting for a bulk of Ford Philippines’ sales.
Ford Philippines sold a total of 2,598 vehicles for October. This is 5 percent up vis-à-vis the same month last year. The rise was led by the Ecosport, which saw a 9 percent increase in units rolling out of showrooms. A total of 889 EcoSport units were sold for this month. This brings year-to-date sales volumes up by 12 percent to 8,739 units.
The Everest was another crowd favorite. October sales were up by 2.5 percent to 825 units. This puts year-to-date sales for the midsize SUV at 9,773 units. Its Ranger platform twin also saw a sales increase, with 721 units leaving Ford dealerships for a 10 percent sales rise. The pickup’s year-to-date sales grew by a whopping 24 percent to 8,222 vehicles.
Aside from the hot-selling trio, other Ford vehicles that drew relatively strong sales were the Explorer and the Mustang. The premium SUV raked in 89 units for October—a 22 percent increase over the same period last year. This puts year-to-date sales at 392 units for a 9 percent increase. The iconic Mustang, meanwhile, sold 45 units last month—boosting total yearly sales for the first nine months of 2017 to 340 pony cars.
Again, it looks like it will be another record year for Ford Philippines.
