Now on its 2nd year, Toyota Motor Philippines’ online one-make race called the Toyota GR GT Cup is underway. As an added push, fuel industry leader, Petron Corporation, through its hallmark ware, PETRON BLAZE 100, is on the move to support this momentous local e-sports event.

The Toyota GR GT Cup, which took off last year right in the middle of the COVID-19 onslaught, aims to transcend the thrill and excitement of physical auto racing to the world of digital competition. With this initiative, racers of all ages and from everywhere can experience the adrenaline rush behind the wheel, even while racing at home. This grassroots motorsports initiative from the country’s bestselling car brand is supported by oil industry leader Petron Corporation, which produces the country’s best gasoline, PETRON BLAZE 100.

While the races are done online, PETRON BLAZE 100 is still a perfect match for the 2021 Toyota GR GT Cup as it is the only 100-octane gasoline in the country. It is the first premium plus gasoline that meets the Philippine and European fuel quality standards, and is certified to be Euro 6-compliant.

Now, many would be asking as to how a fuel company can relate itself to an online motorsports series which requires no fuel to run. The answer, according to Petron is that while the event is held virtually, e-sports racers live the experience of getting behind the wheel of Toyota’s high-performance race cars like the GR Supra, representing the ultimate driving challenge. Similarly, PETRON BLAZE 100 represents the powerful performance of an outstanding gasoline formulated with a high octane and excellent engine cleaning capability.

The 2021 Toyota GR GT Cup is now approaching its penultimate round to be held on June 18-19, with the final round scheduled on June 26. Up to PHP1-million worth of prizes are at stake, with a cash prize plus brand-new Sony Playstation 5 for the overall National Finals champion. Gadgets and gear such as tablets, gaming chairs, gaming monitors, smart home devices, portable action cameras, etc. are also up for grabs for the top finishers.

Fans and enthusiasts can watch the races on the Facebook page of Toyota Motor Philippines (https://www.facebook.com/ToyotaMotorPhilippines).
