Power Mac Center, the official distributor and service provider of Apple products and accessories in the country, recently announced some good news. According to the company, it’s now accepting diagnostic and battery replacement services for those who use older iPhone models.

This announcement came after the American tech giant encountered customer complaints about the alleged battery “performance downgrading” on its older iPhone models. This prompted Apple to release an official statement regarding the matter.

On Power Mac Center’s part, it said that all its branches are now accepting diagnostic, repair, and battery replacement services for those using older iPhone units. It’s worth noting that these services aren’t free of charge, but are assured of utmost care from its team of Apple-trained technicians.

As regard, Power Mac Center released its guidlines of service. These are as follows.

  • Devices must undergo diagnosis to check the battery condition and other internal and external physical/accidental damage or unauthorized modification that may or may not be visible to the naked eye.
  • If such issues are found, the iPhone will be ineligible for the battery replacement.
  • If, during the diagnosis, we also find other hardware issues, our Apple Certified Engineer will recommend a part/unit replacement accordingly.
  • Customers may or may not proceed with the recommendation, but if they decide to pull out, they have to settle the diagnostic fee if the unit is out or void of warranty. The battery replacement fee is Php1,500 for eligible units out of warranty, inclusive of labor. This price may change due to importation costs and without prior notice.

As of this writing, Power Mac Center has successfully replaced a total of 150 iPhone batteries since the release of Apple’s official statement. For more information, visit the official website.
