In a recent partnership solidifying event held between officials from Radical Cars Philippines and SEAOIL Philippines, it has become official – the 2023 season of the SEAOIL Radical Challenge Philippines is on and ready to race!

With its season opener to be held this July at the Clark International Speedway (CIS), the championship will then head down south at the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC) in September, before going all the way back to CIS for a back-to-back round in October and November, and a 2-hour enduro finale on the 25th of November, for a total of 5 exciting rounds this year.

Now accredited as a National-level championship by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP), the series will once again feature a strong 10-car grid of Radical SR1s.

The SR1 features a carbon-steel space frame chassis covered with a high downforce, lightweight fiberglass body. A mid-mounted 182 bhp RPE 1340cc racing-spec engine powers the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential gearbox. Because it’s so simple and lightweight, the SR1 is able to provide the ultimate driving experience battling wheel-to-wheel in a cost-effect manner.

Similar from last year, the grid will be comprised of a variety of drivers, each coming from different levels of experiences; rookies, gentlemen drivers, and seasoned professionals whove’ve competed in many of the country’s sanctioned racing events.

We hope to see everyone at the track!” shared Edward Cruz, SEAOIL Philippines Inc. Head of B2C Segment Marketing.

Records were broken, new fastest laps were set, and limits were conquered on track. With a newfound vigor in 2023, the championship is ready to break even more records and take racing a step higher.

“The partnership with SEAOIL Philippines is a huge milestone as we continue to push the development of motorsports in the country. Our goal is to be here long term and SEAOIL shares that value as we continue to work together for the next three years, solidifying Radical Challenge Philippines as the stepping stone for racing drivers in the Philippines,” said Marlon Stockinger, Radical Cars Philippines Motorsports Director.

This year, officials have organzied each round on the calendar to be spearheaded by Friday Free Practice, followed by the Qualifying and Race 1 the next day. Finally, races 2 and 3 will be held on Sunday. Sprint races are 30 minutes in length start-to-finish, while a new 2 Hour Endurance has been added in 2023 that will see multiple driver changes and pit stops.
