Photo above shows teachers and Caltex retailers flashing the “C” for Caltex. Teachers and Caltex retailers partnered up to promote Fuel Your School to raise the funds for the participating public high schools.

It began with a promo that saw every Caltex customer donate P1 per liter for every fill up at participating fuel stations in the Nothern part of the country.

This ran from June 1 to August 15, 2019.

In total, it raised some P3 million for the Caltex Fuel Your School campaign for the Cagayan Valley and Ifugao provinces.

This resulted in 30 of the highest need public high schools in Cagayan Valley, Isabela, Kalinga, Ifugao, Quirino, and Nueva Vizcaya benefiting from the fundraising effort.

Over 40,000 students taking up Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math courses under the sTEM strand would now be able to receive better education via the teaching aids purchased courtesy of the donation.

These teaching aids include laptops, projectors, and other tech equipment that would help teachers teach in a more visually appealing and efficient way.

All this is part of Caltex and Chevron Philippines’ effort to provide quality education for the highest need yet deserving students in the country.

Together with fuel part Nothern Star Energy Corporation, it hopes to give  the students a shot at a brighter future. Its their way of helping give others a more promising tomorrow.

And it doesn’t stop here as this is only one in many continuous campaigns that will help give Filipinos beter opportunities for a more fruitful life ahead.

Juan Miguel Delgado, chief operating officer of Northern Star Energy Corp., a long-time partner of Fuel Your School, states that they will continue to support education in areas where they have Caltex stations. Education is a corporate value of Northern Star.

Raniag High School senior high student CJ Aviles shared their situation before and after receiving new STEM learning tools from Caltex Fuel Your School. He also revealed how they campaigned online and in the community to make people aware of the program.

Alicia National High School (ANHS) faculty receives their project equipment worth about P100,000 plus a PC laptop as special award for school with the most fuel ups. ANHS generated more than 63,000 liters of fuel sales for nearby Caltex stations. In total, over 310,000 liters of Caltex with Techron was sold which was matched by Caltex and Northern Star with a P3 million donation that went to purchase 21st century teaching equipment to 30 high-need public high schools in the region.

Louie Zhang, country chairman of Chevron Philippines Inc., shares that Caltex is all about making customers enjoy the journey not just for travel but even in life such as providing access to education.
