Car companies have various ways of introducing a new model to the world. It’s usually done at a motor show. Or a media drive. And of course, there is the press event. But what about using Lego bricks to reveal a new model?

This is what Toyota Australia did when it recently unveiled a life-sized Toyota Camry at the Brickman Awesome Exhibition in Melbourne, Australia. Designed and put together by Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught, the only Lego-certified professional in the Southern Hemisphere, the Lego Camry took some 900 hours to build over a span of eight weeks.

While the executive sedan took on a fun twist with the world’s favorite brick toy as its essence, the Lego designers still put in place a few details to make it truly life-like. There are the working headlights, indicators, and brake lights, along with real Toyota logos on the wheels and rear bumper.

And how many Lego bricks were used for this one, you ask? McNaught reveals that over 500,000 pieces went into building this life-sized replica.

This isn’t the first time, though, that a lifes-sized version of a real automobile was built using Lego bricks. There was the Volvo XC90, the Ford Explorer, and just recently, the McLaren 720S.. This one, however, is a bit different as it is being used to usher in a new generation of Camry Down Under.

The Lego Toyota Camry will join 40 other works of Lego art at the Brickman Awesome Exhibition, which runs from March 21 to Arpil 29, 2018 at Melbourne Plaza.
