Volvo Cars has been very vocal about its bid to electrify its model range with either plug-in hybrids or battery electric vehicles.

Now, we Filipinos can get to experience this as the Swedish carmaker introduces its line of T8 Twin Engine offerings in the form of the S90, XC60, and XC90.

The stately sedan, along with the pair of Sport Utility Vehicles boasts of a gasoline-electric motor combo to propel them with power and efficiency.

The setup features Electric Rear Axle Drive, Crank Integrated Starter Generator, and high voltage Traction battery.

In plain English, what these systems do is allow the vehicles to run on either pure electric mode for up 40-50kms, give the gasoline mill a bost during acceleration and other high-putut conditions, and essentially help lessen one’s carbon footprint.

Plus, one can top up the battery through a home carger, a charging statio, or during braking and deccelration while on the move.

It’s all designed, as aforementioned, to reduce emisions and dependence on fossil fuels.
