If you purchased a new vehicle between July to October 2016, chances are you’re still running on conduction plates. The Land Transportation Office, however, recently said that it would soon be releasing license plates for the said vehicles. What’s even better is that you can check online if those plates are already available for pick up.
By visiting https://www.lto.net.ph/, motor vehicle owners can click on the Motor Vehicle 7-Character Backlog Inquiry link. Ths will allow one to check on the status of their car’s license plates by simply entering the 15-digit MV file number found on the top-left portion of their Certificate of Registration. Moreover, the site will even inform you where you can pick up those plates.
While the LTO has stated that around 230,000 plates have been produced, this is a small number compared to the roughly half a million more vehicles roaming our roads without a plate. Still, , we expect more vehicles to get their license plates real soon.
