Work and Play Come Together for This Year’s Manila International Auto Show

It’s that time of the year once again when automotive enthusiasts all over the Metro gather for the biggest car show around. We of course refer to the Manila International Auto Show 2018, to be held at the World Trade Center and Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City from April 5-8, 2018.

As with past shows, this year’s MIAS centers around the theme Work and Play and will bring together over 500,000 show visitors who can check out around 30,000sq.m. worth of exhibits from 500 booths and other show stoppers. Since its inception in 2005, the show has grown to include some 400 car displays. And we’re only talking about brand enw and classic cars.

As anyone who has been to MIAS would know, the latest rides and car launches are just one part of the show. Visitors can likewise get to test drive the ride of their choice.. They can even get a good deal or two via financing packages from the likes of Bank of the Philippine Islands, among others.

Kids and kids-at-heart  will likewise get a treat from the Diecast Car Collectors of the Philippines who will put on display some of their finest toys. Speaking of hobbies, Ardie Lopez will be on hand to teach aspiring photographers a thing or two about being behind the lens.

And of course, what’s a MIAS event without the precision driving of Russ Swift? With lightning-quick parallel parking maneuvers, j-turns, and donuts, Swift will once again wow guests with his world-famous precision driving skills. It promises to be a show like no other.

Now on its 14th year, this year’s Manila International Auto Show will play host to new car launches from the country’s top manufacturers. New tech will likewise be unveiled, letting Filipinos in on what’s hot in the automotive scene when it comes to safety and driving innovation. And of course, we can’t go forward without taking a look back at the past—this time in the form of well-restored classic cars. Plus, DriveZeone, a Virtual Reality Driving Simulator made in Austria, will let Filipinos experience the joy of being behind the wheel--albeit virtually--at the show. 

So head over to the World Trade Center this weekend to check out the best of the Philippine automotive landscape.
