The BMW Z4 has always been considered as one of the most good-looking roadsters in the business. But if you think that the current car looks awesome, wait til you feast your eyes on the new BMW Z4 Concept, which debuts at this year’s Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach.
The new Z4 is dominated by a lot of upswept styling cues. This can be seen, for instance, in the headlights that likewise give a new take on the Angel Eyes treatment of BMWs past. These flank a wide kidney grille, which are complemented by a host of air vents on the hood and larger ones on the front bumper.
A few notable touches on the side profile are the air breathers, along with the speedster-like rear quarters. The rear end, meanwhile, shows more upswept curves that feature a discreet trunklid spoiler.
A peek inside the BMW Z4 Concept reveals a hexagonal instrument cluster housing, as seen from current BMWs. Then there’s the Race button on the steering wheel, along with the traditional driver-centric layout. It truly is an inviting place to go for a drive.
Speaking drive, BMW hints that the production version will get its line of four- and six-cylinder powerplants. It is also no secret that the upcoming second-generation roadster will share platforms with the Toyota Supra. Word has it that there is also a gasoline-electric hybrid model in the works.
The BMW Z4’s production version is slated for release sometime in 2018.
