Centro Manufacturing Corporation, a leading truck body builder in the country, is once again set to revolutionize the industry as it puts forth a new type of transport solution for the ever-growing freight carrying sector. Centro recently announced its partnership with Japanese wing van maker Nippon Fruehauf.
The team up will see Centro assembling wing vans locally at its Marilao, Bulacan facility. In fact, the new assembly and manufacturing is plant dedicated solely to putting together these wing vans. The recent inauguration was graced by Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez, Marilao Mayor Juanito Santiago, Nippon Fruehauf President Koji Ueno, Isuzu Philippines Corporation President Hajime Koso, and Centro President Raffy Juan.
The Centro-Nippon deal was actually expedited in a short span of around six months by no less than DTI Secretary Lopez. It was then signed in the presence of President Rodrigo Duterte during his Japanese State Visit last October 2016. And within a few months, the plant was inaugurated.
One of the first fruits of this partnership is the Isuzu G-Cargo wing van. Taking its cue from an Isuzu FVM cab and chassis, the G-Cargo wing van has some really unique features that are set to put it above its peers in the class.
For one, it is made of lightweight aluminum that’s durable. The wing roof design is made of 6000 series aluminum posts and 5000 series panels, likewise made of aluminum. It utilizes a Fruehauf power-assisted hydraulic system that has undergone rigorous testing for optimum durability and ensures worry-free operation. Plus, side bars help provide accessibility and protection, while Seiko locks and an engine immobilizer give owners and operators total peace of mind.
Of course, the Isuzu G-Cargo wing van is just one example of what can be done with such a product. We can expect more of these innovations from Centro in the near future.
