While it’s truly convenient to travel around in your own car, it can likewise be stressful and even cumbersome. . Sure, it’s safe and you can command your pace. In Germany, however, a new startup company is changing the way people park their cars. Evopark is a firm put together in 2014 that aims to solve the problem of parking. It uses an electronic system that can find the nearest parking space or garage, as well as pay for the parking service without cash.
It does all this through the use of an electronic card. No need to get a ticket or step out of your car to receive a card from a machine. It’s as easy as driving through a barrier which opens up once it detects the card in your vehicle. And you can leave just as quickly, paid and ready for your next appointment—with a possible parking space plotted out for you.
The system seems so effective that even Porsche Digital, the electronics and digital arm of German luxury sports car maker Porsche, has purchased a stake in it. And it will soon be offering services utilizing the said technology.
Since its inception two years ago, Evopark has grown its client bse to 20,000 customers, located in some 21 cities. It has also tied up with 56 car parks throughout Germany. Now, if only they can do something about exorbitant parking fees….
