The ultra-luxurious Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe just got a tad sportier. This, in a nutshell, is how to describe its latest iteration that combines the classic grand tourer vibe with modern sportiness.

The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Night Edition adds touches like a single-louver radiator grille set in high-gloss black. More black trim can be seen on the exterior mirrors, side sill vents, and 20-inch AMG multi-spoke rims. Completing the look are front and rear AMG aprons, as well as Night Edition badging on the front wings and illuminated Mercedes-Benz lettering on the door sills. The car can even be had in a special selenite grey magno paint scheme.

Inside, it’s pure luxury, thanks to nappa leather or AMG nappa leather upholstery that can be ordered in either black, crystal grey/black, saddle brown/black, or Bengal red/black. Of course, the Night Edition name is engraved on the AMG sports steering wheel.

Buyers can choose from either the S400 4Matic with its 3.0-liter V6 with 367hp and 500Nm of torque, or the S500 and S500 4Matic, putting out 455hp and 700Nm. Either way, they will get true performance, thanks n no small part to zero to 100 sprint times of between 5.6 to 4.6 seconds, along with superb handling and comfort when they so please.

The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe will have its world premiere at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this January. Orders will be taken soon afterwards, with deliveries beginning in April of 2017.
