The month of February was a particularly trying time for the auto industry. This was especially true for new car owners, thanks in no small part to the snail’s pace release of vehicle license plates, and the No Registration, No Travel policy being implemented once again. These, however, didn’t stop Ford Philippines from selling some 1,500 vehicles during the said month.
The Ford Everest, for instance, sold some 527 units. Its Ecosport cousin, meanwhile, closed the love month with 475 examples rolling out of showrooms. This helped it achieve a 20% year-on-year sales growth, pegged at 1,397 Ecosports for the first two months of 2017. As for the Everest’s pickup platform-mate, the Ranger, it too enjoyed brisk sales of 1,111 copies—a 3% increase over last year’s figures. The second month of the year witnessed some 393 Rangers leaving Ford dealerships.
These nameplates, along with other Ford vehicles, proved consumer confidence in the brand and the industry as a whole. And Ford assures that it is doing all it can to straddle the delicate balance between complying with regulations while still delivering client demands for new cars and SUVs.
