Google Now Makes Getting Around Easier

Once upon a time, those of us who use Google Maps to find a certain location were shown a tab that gave options on how to get there. The tab usually showed an estimate on which is the fastest means to reach your destination—via Uber, Grab, or walking, for example. While this seemed simple enough, Google wants to think that there is an even better solution.

Now, the Google Search app and Mobile Search Browser allow users to choose these very same services. It’s as simple as asking for directions using these apps, and voila! You not only get a list of possible ways to get there; it will likewise give you a timeframe on how fast (or slow) it will take you using each way.

To use it, all you need to do is type something like, “Grab taxi to Manila Hotel”. This will then take you straight to the Grab app so you can book your ride. Don’t worry if you don’t have the application installed on your mobile device, as you will be directed to either the App Store or Google Play where you can download your desired service app.

With these innovations, getting around should be a piece of cake. Well, save for the traffic, that is.
