The Honda Civic has long been a favorite of the Filipino car buyer. Ever since it came out in the early 1990s, the Filipino motorist has been taken by its fine mix of style, performance, fuel efficiency, and a rather premium vibe in an otherwise mainstream segment.

Now, the all-new 10th generation Honda Civic takes top honors in the recently concluded 2016 Car of the Year-Philippines search organized by the Car Awards Group Inc (CAGI), together with Carmudi.com.ph and KPMG R.G Manabat & Co. The Civic bested a field of 72 vehicles from different makes, models, and categories.

Apart from taking home the Car of the Year-Philippines, the Honda Civic also emerged victorious as the Best Compact Sedan and SpeedLab Tuner’s Choice. This adds to its list of awards, which include the Compact Sedan of the Year and Best Engine Performance—Compact Sedan, Auto Focus People Choice Awards, as well as the 2016 North American Car of the Year and 2016 Canadian Car of the Year.

All these simply show the strength of the new Civic. It possesses a combination of style, driving pleasure from either a 1.8-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder or a 1.5-liter turbocharged mill, and a host of creature comfort and safety features.

Apart from the Civic, Honda also went home with two more awards. These are the Best Premium MPV for the Honda Odyssey EX, and the Honda Legend 3.5 Sport Hybrid SH-AWD that bagged the Nuvali Green Car honors.
