Over the past few weeks, teaser videos and images have been floating around the web about the upcoming facelift of Isuzu’s popular MU-X. Well, Isuzu has finally revealed the 2017 midlife facelift for its vaunted Sport Utility Vehicle in Thailand.
Sporting a new front end, the MU-X receives a restyled front grille, bumper, and foglight design. The headlights now come with LED lighting and an equally new daytime running light signature. The side profile, meanwhile, is a carryover from the current model, with the addition of upgraded 18-inch wheels and tires. The refresh is capped off by redesigned taillights and rear bumper.
Stepping inside, Isuzu claims that the cabin will get a more premium vibe, thanks to the use of more soft touch materials. A new 8-inch infotainment touchscreen sits at the center of the dash, making it easier to access various vehicle, connectivity, and entertainment functions. Drivers will likewise focus more on driving with the cleaner-looking instrument cluster.
Powering the Thai-spec Isuzu MU-X is a pair of turbodiesel motors. These displace either 1.9-liters or the familiar 3.0-liter mill. The former develops 150hp and 350Nm, mated to either a 6-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual. The bigger engine puts out 177hp and 380Nm and is paired with the 6-speed matic.
The 2017 Isuzu MU-X will most likely make its way to our shores within the year.
