Michelin, a world leader in tires, closed 2016 on a high note as it garnered a couple of recognitions for performance and sustainability.
Given by Reputation Institute and Forbes Magazine, Michelin was recognized as the 14th most responsible company that had a positive impact on civil society. The tire maker was likewise the highest in its segment, followed by competitor Goodyear, that placed 28th out of 100.
The survey polled some 240,000 respondents from 15 countries. Moreover, Michelin ranked 25th in the Carbon Disclosure Project, an independent organization that provides information about various companies’ environmental impact. Michelin was the only firm that made it to the list—and the Climate A section at that. This just shows how serious it is about reducing its carbon footprint and increasing its positive impact on the industry and society as a whole.
