When one thinks of Nismo, cars like the almighty GT-R and even the cool funky Juke come to mind. True enough as these are the models that bear the motorsport tuner’s badge and performance genes.

So it’s a pleasant surprise to find the Nismo logo slapped on the latest 2017 Nissan Sentra. Not only does this give it some motorsport cred but it likewise offers a whole lot of excitement for the daily drive. The new Sentra Nismo isn’t just for show; it’s also got some go. This comes from the 1.6-liter direct injection turbocharged gasoline motor that puts out 188hp and 240Nm. While it is mated to the brand’s high-tech Xtronic CVT, Nissan wisely gives buyers the option of a slick-shifting six-speed manual gearbox. This way, they can shift gears the way God intended.

Matching the Sentra Nismo’s sporty performance potential are the Nismo bodykt with double layer wings, 18-nch alloys, a discreet rear spoiler, and grippy rubber. Inside, the sport seats offer extra bolsters while a wealth of Nismo logos remind you that you’re driving a special car.

The new Nissan Sentra Nismo was unveiled earlier in downtown Los Angeles and will be displayed at this year’ss Los Angeles International Auto Show. It joins the recently released Juke Black Pearl and other cool Nissan vehicles at the show, which runs from November 18-27, 2016.

With the Nissan Sentra Nismo, those looking for a daily driver with potent performance may have just found their ride.
