KYB, through its local distributor Massiveparts Incorporated, introduces the New SR Special shock absorber that combines OE comfort with improved damping characteristics.

The New SR Special is a premium direct replacement shock absorber designed and engineered with greater durability by ensuring the highest quality and structural reliability all while maintaining strict safety standards that only KYB shock absorbers offer.

Backed by years of experience in manufacturing shock absorbers, constant research and development and actual suspension tuning, KYB engineers have obtained the most optimal damping characteristics to give you an enhanced driving experience.

Your regular driving routine of accelerating, turning and stopping is now made more exciting with the sporty damping features the KYB New SR Special offers.  But more important than the spirited ride is safety and compared to OE shock absorbers, the KYB New SR Special has a lot more control over the vehicle’s pitch or roll during emergency driving situations.

“The KYB NEW SR is for those who would like to upgrade their daily drive. This works well with those who like to do long distance driving (like a sports car) on weekends and yet able to drive around in traffic and uneven roads comfortably on a daily basis,” said Gen Lao, Marketing Manager of Massiveparts Inc.

Made in Japan, developed using experience learned on the track and tested by Japanese D1 drift and Super GT racecar driver Nobutero Taniguchi aka “NOB” or ‘No One Better,’ the New SR Special was manufactured specifically for those who want performance-oriented suspension without losing ride comfort.

“Car manufacturers usually develop softer suspension based on ordinary drivers preferences. That is the reason why normal cars tend to nose dive when braking hard or roll when cornering. This is why the New SR Special has been designed with improved damping characteristics to reduce rolling and pitching and get better handling and adds, I recommend the New SR for drivers who like a comfortable ride in town who ride with family or want to improve performance without sacrificing comfort,” said Taniguchi.

KYB’s New SR Special is a non-adjustable, gas-type shock absorber and constructed using a single tube shell case. This Japanese manufacturing design allows for a very efficient, extremely accurate and durable damper.

Compared to standard shock absorbers, the New SR Special offers 50% more compression/bumping stroke and 80% more rebound/extension stroke.  This greatly improves handling without compromising ride quality especially during high speed driving.  It keeps a firm grip on the road, no matter the surface type, yet remains comfortable enough for everyday use.

The New SR Special shock absorber works well with performance lowering spring kits or standard OE-spec coil springs.

The New SR Special fits most Japanese car brands such as Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Lexus, Mazda, Suzuki, and Daihatsu. Non-Japanese car brands include Ford, VW & Peugeot. It is also available for selected CUV/SUV models.
