Volkswagen is one of those car companies that boasts of a rich past, present, and future. The heritage is courtesy of one of, if not the most iconic cars, the Beetle. Its present-day offerings are some of the most advanced, sensible, yet still fun-to-drive out there. And the future looks bright, thanks in no small part to cutting-edge innovations.
Apart from selling cars, however, Volkswagen prides itself as being one of the leading advocates of road safety—particularly for children. Thanks to its Child Safety Initiative (CSI), thousands of kids and their parents have learned the value of being careful while driving or even crossing the street. And after a series of events in Luzon since its 2015 launch, CSI heads for the Visayas. The CSI Visayas leg will kick-off at Robinson’s Galleria in Cebu City this October 15-16, 2016.
The two-day event will feature seminars by representatives of the Philippine Global Road Safety Partnership, such as its active Secretary General Engineer Bert Swansing, who has been hard at work promoting the cause. The kids also get a chance to “get behind the wheel” at the simulated roadway. This miniature community features road signs and traffic lights. Of course, VW push cars for children aged 4-8 will be on hand for some fun yet responsible driving.
There will also be a Pledge Wall where the young ones and their parents can sign a specially-designed 6x6 sticker to signify their support. Car stickers will likewise be given away. And those who want to ensure their kids’ safety can check out the Child Seat Corner for the latest in infant and toddler protection. This being a Volkswagen event, vehicles like the family-friendly Tiguan and Touran will be on display.
Special deals will be available for those who wish to get one for their family. So head over to Robinson’s Galleria Cebu this weekend for an enjoyable and worthy cause. It’s the perfect way to teach your kids to become a responsible motorist--even at a young age.
