Those of us who grew up in the 1980s may find the Suzuki Super Carry to be a familiar nameplate. The Japanese commercial vehicle maker brought in the van version near the end of the decade. To many, it was a family car or even a business partner.
Suzuki Philippines now unveils the latest iteration of this long-standing vehicle. Moreover, it has introduced a total of four variants to show the public just how versatile its little workhose really is. The Suzuki Super Carry can be had in either:
- The Super Carry Truck : P479,000
- Super Carry Cargo Van: P529,000
- Super Carry Utility Van: P565,000
- Super Carry Jeepney Body: P550,000
Each of these offerings represent the various facets of the vehicle and the many types of people that will use them. It can serve as a cargo hauler, shuttle service, school bus, or a utility vehicle. With a payload of 745kg, it can truly carry quite a lot, living up to its namesake.
The Suzuki Super Carry is powered by a miserly 793cc Euro-4 compliant turbodiesel mill that is good for 32hp and 75Nm of torque. While those may not sound like much, the figures are enough to haul cargo and people while still returning a claimed 22km/L. And with a 2,183mm long cargo bed, you can really pack a lot on this little truck. Moreover, the smallish size should make it easily maneuverable in tight spaces.
The Suzuki Super Carry, along with the new Suzuki APV Utility Van (priced at P630,000) offer businesspeople yet another viable transport option.
